Seismic Research

LMF has been manufacturing high-pressure compressor systems for marine seismic surveys for more than 40 years.

These DNV-certified systems are developed and built to withstand the rough conditions at sea and are used as an energy source for air gun systems.

LMF’s continuity and the experience of more than 700 installations on seismic research vessels worldwide is reflected in the most reliable seismic compressor portfolio available on the market.

We care about the environment

Oil-free design available

  • No oil requirement for screw and reciprocating compressor
  • No disposal costs and effort for screw compressor and cylinder lube oil
  • No oil content in condensate (“clean condensate”)
  • No oil-contaminated high-pressure air towards manifold and air guns

Energy saving

Stepless capacity control by means of:

  • variable frequency drives on electric driven units or
  • a smart combination of air inlet pressure and engine speed control of diesel-driven units (reduction of fuel consumption up to 50% possible)
